Adopt a German Shorthaired Pointer

2006

These dogs are lucky enough to have found their forever homes!

Laila (Millie) has found her forever home and here is what her family had to say.

"I found my canine soul mate in late March of 2006. Laila was rescued form a shelter in Fresno Ca, by GSP rescue. Since then Laila has been every where with me. She loves all animals of any size, and likes making new friends. You want to go to the park, river, walk to the coffee shop, hiking, backpacking, school, Laila is always ready to go!

I found out about the Canine Connection later that year and met Dr. Sarah Richardson. February of 2007 I finally signed us up for our first Dog Obedience class. While I have always felt a strong connection with Laila, communication seemed to be lacking. Over the course of the class, I felt a language develop. Laila was a little learning machine and neither of us wanted the class to end. So we signed up for the next class."

Adopted: March 2006

Pumpkin has found the home of her dreams with a fenced acre to run in, two canine companions, and a wonderful family. What a great way to start off the new year!

Adopted: December 2006

Scout was adopted so quickly we never had time to get her picture up on the foster dog section. This cute GSP mix was adopted by a co-worker of her foster mom. Two short weeks after arriving in foster care, she was home with her new family and is now enjoying evenings next to the fireplace, four kids to play with, and growing up very fast!

Adopted: November 2006

Stella didn't even know it, but when she got to her foster home, she'd found her forever home. It took her foster mom a little while to figure it out, but when she realized she didn't want Stella to interview other families, it became clear! Lucky Stella!

Adopted: November 2006

Wellington is living the good life with his family in Napa.
It was love at first sight for all. The kids in his family
took his photo to school for show and tell. They are happy
to share their stuffed toys with their new best friend.
This is what rescue is all about. Wellington was rescued
one day before he was to be euthanized.

Adopted: October 2006

Marianne (Annie) hit the jackpot with her new family. They are such a nice family. They are overjoyed with her and they can't get over how cute she is! She has a GSP sister, an elder sister, and two human brothers...a huge meadow, her own redwood forest, a river and a pond full of frogs.

Adopted: October 2006

Cyndi was adopted! What happens when you volunteer your time and energy to NorCal GSP Rescue? You end up adopting a dog! Cyndi (now Frida) quietly worked her way into the heart of one of our board members, a long-time GSP lover who wasn't sure if or when she was ready to have a GSP of her own. Obviously the time was now!

Adopted: October 2006

Indy fit in so well as his foster home that they decided to make him a permanent addition! His foster mom couldn't believe that this near-perfect dog had ended up in a shelter. Indy now gets to spend his days romping around on a large property with five canine buddies as well as feline companions.

Adopted: September 2006

Gertie is a wonderful old gal who will be spending the rest of her days in a "retirement home" for dogs where she will get to do her most favorite thing - resting on her bed in the sun. Special thanks to Julie L.!

Adopted: August 2006

Henry is living the good life with his new mom. He's fitting in so well, and lucky dog, he gets to go lots of places with her. She's commented more than once that "he's so handsome!" We're so glad Henry has found his forever home.

Adopted: August 2006

Harley has a new last name! He's Harley Antolini now. His forever family says, "Thanks to all of you, we are enjoying not only Harley but also his two GSP rescue brothers. Harley is a wonderful family member and friend!"

Adopted: August 2006

Jane has found a place in the hearts of her new family. They looked at literally hundreds of dogs but knew that Jane was the one for them. The young son is particularly glad to have a dog in his life again, and was so excited that they would be picking up Jane to come live with them. Jane is one lucky girl!

Adopted: August 2006

Radar waited a while to find his forever home, but boy, did he luck out! He couldn't have done any better! His new family knows and loves GSPs and are so glad to have Radar. Another match made in heaven!

Adopted: July 2006

Hutch is such an energetic boy that we were worried he might not get enough exercise. Well, his new family has plenty of room for him to run on their large property, and he can run to his heart's content. Thank goodness Hutch and his family found each other!

Adopted: June 2006

Hannah was adopted through our owner referral listings! Here's what her new family has to say about her:

"WE LOVE HER!! What a sweetheart! We’ve owned 2 other GSP’s and knew immediately we had a place for her in our home and our hearts. Move over “Kitty”. It’s been 10 years since our last dog and our family was so ready. Our 3 kids are nearly grown but are all still at home. I would guess Hannah gets about 100 hugs and cuddles a day and 2-3 walks and runs. She loves the beach and the mountains nearby. She’s so smart, like all GSP’s and loves her routine in our home, and her 3 beds and toys. She loves to please and certainly pleases us daily."

Adopted: January 2006
